A "Natural History of the Senses" Relief Sculpture

This sculpture explore the correlation between sexualized body parts are the food they correlate to. I read the chapter aFood and Sex from the book "Natural History of the Senses" by Diane Ackerman. She describes in this chapter how society has compared sexual body parts, such as boobs to cherries. I wanted to create something showing those exact correlations. So I traced my body with inspiration from da Vinci and stuck it up on the wall. I then made wooden shelves and placed cherries, cakes, and a banana is their correlating spots. I think it is important to see how society views the human body. It is viewed as something to be envied and wanted.
